The difference between builders 24/8/2023

Here's the difference between a builder that is just building to the plan, and one that is thinking of the long term livability for the client.

Item 1. Air-con ducting to the lower level. The plan called for the ducting to be installed down a service bulkhead area in my WIR. The duct is larger than normal to cater for the over height ceilings below. Rather than squeeze the duct through the triangle shaped floor truss which would have reduced the air flow, our builder came up with more effective solution to re-route over the TV niche in our Bedroom. We also re-claimed almost 1sqm of floor space in my WIR the process.
Most volume home builders wouldn't have even thought about this and just jammed the duct in and moved on with the build.
Item 2 - Cavity Doors to the Home Theater. The frame of the cavity door takes up space in the wall so there isn't sufficient space to install sound insulation. Solution, affix 12mm plywood inserts to the cavity frames.
These may be little things and took more time to do, but will make all the difference in the long term.
