Getting the frame to the slab is proving a challenge 31/1/2023

The frame is ready for delivery, but the builder has struck a few issues getting the frame from the truck to the slab.

The installation of the underground water tank has resulted in the existing site access point being no longer usable. There is also power lines across the street frontage which will prevent using a traditional crane to lift.

Solution Part 1 - The plan is to create a new site access point where the driveway will be and use a Telehandler to lift the frames off the truck and transport them under the power lines to the slab. However, this presents another issue as the slope of the block means that normal blue metal or crushed concrete will not be suitable for the machine to drive on.

Solution Part 2 - Excavate the driveway to a suitable depth and lay in some "rough concrete" which will provide the telehandler with a safe path from the street to the slab. This concrete will then be covered by the steel reinforced concrete driveway later in the build.

The Driveway install is included in the build contract, but not the additional depth of excavation, or the extra "rough concrete". The proposed solution is being costed now.
