First pass at the Electrical Plan. Got a few things to add here and there such as extra external data points for Security Cameras etc, but its pretty close.
Builder #2 has come back with the results of my hand drawn sketches I provided. Happy to report the diagrams and views have exceeded my expectations. Being able to see the external and internal views is really helpful to get an idea of what the house will look like once finished. The Kitchen, Dining, Living, Alfresco are perfect, and exactly how we envisioned them. The slope is a challenge and it was good to see my idea of 2 separate splits in the ground floor was feasible and achievable. It does introduce another Drop Edge Beam to the design but the benefit is less cut and fill, plus the house will be more livable long term. We have requested some minor tweaks with the WIP, Guest Bed, Bed 2, and Bed 3 all to be increased in size which the builder is working on now. This will take the house up to 42 sq.
Hi Everyone. I've created this blog to track the journey of our latest build. We are embarking upon a custom build after searching far and wide for "the perfect" block. Our search lead us to a 1,062 Sqm property where the primary residence had already been demolished and there was an existing 6 year old granny flat built on the rear portion of the block. Sloping down from the street with views across the valley to the Southwest taking in Berrilee and distant view to the Blue Mountains. We inspected the property and made an offer. After some negotiations, an exchange of contracts occurred and we settled on the property on 3/5/2021. The next phase of the journey will be selecting a builder and designing our home to suit the slope and to take advantage of the views. Stay tuned!
Received revised plans yesterday 27/7/2021 We are getting close to the final plans A few things to tweak - 1. Study to be made larger to better use the wasted space in the entry 2. Media / Theater to be reconfigured - TV to be placed on the external wall. Dual Swing doors to be replaced with Solid Core Cavity Doors. 3. Master WIR to be made larger (Wall indent to be flipped out) making the WIR square. WIR will then be large enough to split into a His and Hers WIR. Delete WIR Door and replace with Square set opening.
