Our Custom Build - Berowra Heights NSW

In light of the disappointment of the overbudget quote from Builder #1, we have engaged a new builder whom is more aligned to our requirements and budget. They do custom design as well as pre-prepared plans. Requirements have been provided, and an initial costing provided. Site Survey booked for this Friday 3/9/2021. Time will tell, but we are hopeful this is the one.          

We received our first quote from Builder#1 yesterday. Its not looking good. Already $80K over budget and it didn't include some of the basic items and finishes we were looking for.  Reviewing the quote now to see if its possible to make this work.  A bit disappointing really given the assurances to date of being able to build what's been discussed to the number tabled.    

We are planning for this to be the last house we build, so we need to get it right and be completely comfortable with it. With that being said we have decided to tweak the design again so that it gives us what we need now, and into the future. So it's back to the drawing board with a revised design, and possibly a different builder. We have also revisited our selections as well. Some of our initial choices will remain however, the ILVE Cooker / Rangehood is being dispensed with in order to control the budget more effectively.
